
Theodore Chang is a baritone based in New York City.

For the 2025-2026 season, Chang will return to New Jersey Opera Theater as Fedorov in Clint Borzoni's new opera The Christmas Spider. Additionally he debuts with Mannes Opera covering Caretto in Korngold's Die Stumme Serenade. In August he will debut with the Sotto Voce Opera Collective as Don Fernando and covering Don Pizarro in Fidelio. He also joins the eVoco Voice Collective on their winter 2026 project A Dome of Many-Coloured Glass in January.

During the 2024-2025 season, he made his Music on Site, Inc. debut as the Editor in Michael Ching's new opera Notes on Viardot. He also performed in their scenes showcase in classic roles such as Vodnik in Rusalka, the titular character in Gianni Schicchi and Sulpice in La fille du regiment. He served in the chorus in Florida Grand Opera's productions of L'Elisir d'amore and Carmen and made his debut with New Jersey Opera Theatre as Flora's Servant and covering both the Marchese d'Obigny and Giorgio Germont in La traviata.
In the 2023-2024 season, Chang added many impressive roles: Masetto and Il Commendatore in Don Giovanni with Chicago Summer Opera, Mr. Jones in Street Scene and Alcindoro (Scenes) from La boheme with Frost Opera Theatre. He sang the bass soloist in a recording of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony for the Frost Chamber Singers. He also presented a recital featuring song cycles by Beethoven, Chausson and Finzi. with arias by Handel, Mozart and Donizetti, concluding with an art song by the Korean Composer Shin Dongsu.
The 2022-2023 season saw Chang as Antonio in Le nozze di Figaro with Frost Opera Theatre and Papageno in the Magic Flute with the Queen's Summer Vocal Institute. He also performed Masetto from Don Giovanni and the Judge from Trial by Jury, both in scenes, for Frost Opera Theatre.

In the Fall of 2025 he began his graduate studies at the Mannes School of Music under the tutelage of baritone Stephen Powell. He earned his B.M. in Vocal Performance from the University of Miami's Frost School of Music, where he studied under Metropolitan Opera Baritone Kim Josephson.

He maintains a private teaching studio on Long Island, and is a member of the eVoco Voice Collective, an award-winning vocal ensemble based there.
